【Unit Project 2】Making original omelet

 I will write about how to make original omelet. My grandmother taught me this recipe. I couldn’t eat shimeji mushrooms before, but I became able to eat it since I ate this omelet for the first time. This omelet is so delicious, so I want to tell the way of making original omelet.

These are original omelet ingredients (one omelet).

  • raw eggs …two
  • chicken …40g
  • Shimeji mushrooms …30g
  • onion …15g
  • butter…proper amounts 
  • oil …proper amounts
  • sugar …two teaspoons 
  • soy sauce …two tablespoons and one teaspoon 
  • cooking sake …proper amounts
  • mirin … proper amounts 
  • salt …proper amounts 
  • chicken stock soup base …

These are tools.

  • long chopstick …one
  • frying pan …one
  • strainer and bowl set …one
  • tablespoon …one
  • tea spoon …one
  • Small bowl …one



I’m going to tell original omelet procedures.

  1. Chip the onion into small pieces and cut the shimeji mushrooms and the chicken into bite size pieces.

  2. Heat the frying pan, add the oil and Cook throughly the cut chickens in the frying pan.

  3. Add the cut onions into the frying pan and fry until turn the onions’ color, from green and white to clear.

  4. Add the cut shimeji mushrooms into the frying pan and fry until being soft.

  5. And then add the chicken stock soup base and the sugar, mix until melt the sugar.

  6. Add the cooking sake, the soy sauce and mirin into the frying pan, and mix them until permeate taste into ingredients, and then the completed thing put on the strainer.

  7. Next, beat the eggs and put in salt into it. Then, Pour the butter into clean frying pan, heat it and spread the beat egg on it until cooking.

  8. Put the completed things(chickens, onions and shimeji mushroom) on the egg of half, and then fold in half the egg.

  9. Finally, serve it.


This is my original omelet recipe. I think you might want not to fry the beat egg too much. Also, you should be careful the order of putting ingredients into the frying pan so that all ingredients cooking throughly equally. It is not difficult for people who are not good at cooking, so I want to everyone make this omelet!
